Gold is perceived as the most desired precious metal due to its value. Gold is abundant in the earth’s crust and widespread in low concentrations in all igneous rocks. However, it is highly strenuous to acquire the perfect form of gold that we are familiar with. It has to be dredged first from the soil or stream bed with various surface excavating equipments. It is just the beginning of its complex process since gold is not available in its purest form in the nature. Gold refiner has to remove impurities through chemical intervention. Then, in the form of cast piece, the gold has to go through vacuum casting, in which the hot metal, in a molten state, is poured into a mold to reach into all corners. After long journey, it takes the finest last touch to give you the valuable yet desirable perfect shape of gold.

Gold is also known as the softest metal, so a 24 karat gold in its final product is never a 100% pure gold because it is highly malleable and vulnerable. Thus, the final product of gold is always at maximum 99.9% pure. To make it complete and durable, the gold needs other metals such as copper, silver, or platinum to reach its strong final form.
